5. MANY HUMMINGBIRDS, IN PARTICULAR, CAN BE EXTREMELY BEAUTIFUL, LIKE THIS SHINING SUNBEAM. IT CAN BE FOUND IN COLOMBIA, PERU, AND ECUADOR!
6. WHAT ABOUT THE FIERY-THROATED HUMMINGBIRD, NATIVE TO COSTA RICA AND PANAMA?
7. IF PURPLE IS YOUR FAVORITE COLOR, YOU’LL LOVE THE VELVET-PURPLE CORONET.
8. HUMMINGBIRDS AREN’T THE ONLY COLORFUL BIRDS IN THE WORLD. BELOW ARE TWO RAINBOW LORIKEETS. PART OF THE PARROT FAMILY, THEY ARE CLASSIFIED AS PESTS IN PARTS OF AUSTRALIA AND NEW ZEALAND. BEAUTIFUL PESTS INDEED.
9. THEN THERE’S STUNNING PAINTED BUNTING. THEY’RE COMMON IN THE SOUTHEASTERN UNITED STATES.
10. Not everyone is a fan of pigeons, but they’re lying if they say the Nicobar pigeon isn’t pretty!
11. The Violaceous Trogon* sounds like a Harry Potter spell, but it’s actually this really pretty bird found in Central and South America.
12. This colorful Mask of Zorro-looking bird is called a Common Green Magpie.
13. And this is a gorgeous shot of a Mandarin duck.
